A Little Whimsey

A lighthearted mixed media painting series on canvas. Learn Patricia's formula for making whimsical faces, painting and layering mixed media backgrounds, mixing and shading just the right colors and collaging to create whimsical beautiful angels.
Whimsical Faces is a such a fun class! Don't worry if you have never painted. It's exciting to share the joy in this small class of only 4 students to see what you all create. Since this is a small class in my Studio you will receive lots of detailed instructions. At the end, you will have a 16" x 20" painting to take home that you did all by yourself!

Altered Techniques on Canvas
We will use many different altered techniques to layer, collage, affix, rubber stamp, Create backgrounds using vintage papers, gesso and different paints, gel and metallics. Select images from Patricia's vast selection of vintage photos, old documents, embellishments plus any of my layered collage sheets. We will discuss layout using the grid to enhance your design. You will leave with a wonderful creation of your own that you will love.

Sacred Altar
Woman and altars have been around for centuries. A sacred space to have for one's own purpose. A resting place of privacy for our busy lives. A small retreat to pray or meditate or just to breathe and be.
First we will concept what is meaningful to you and the colors you desire .Many techniques will be incorporated into this wonderful project. We will use polymer clay, paint, embellishments, and layers and layers of different techniques.

Collage your way using wood, postage stamps, old letters, maps andother ephemera from my archives of vintage papers, glass, metal paint, clay and images.

Introduction to
Soldering
Learn how to keep safe working with intense heat. We will use precut glass and images from my collection (or bring your own). Learn the proper way to "wrap" your glass with copper foil tape, solder, attaching hanging devices, and finish. All materials are included except for a soldering iron which you can purchase at Hobby Lobby for this class. You will make three or four pieces in this class.
